The ADS1113 / ADS1114 / ADS1115 series from Texas Instruments (TI) are precision, low-power 16-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with an I²C-compatible interface. These devices feature a low-drift voltage reference, internal oscillator, and wide operating voltage range, making them ideal for high-resolution measurements in space- and power-constrained sensor systems.
-
ADS1113: Base version with fixed input and simple I²C control
-
ADS1114: Adds a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and digital comparator
-
ADS1115: Includes PGA and a multiplexer (MUX) supporting two differential or four single-ended inputs
These ADCs support data rates up to 860 samples per second (SPS) and provide excellent performance across a wide range of input voltages thanks to the PGA’s input range from ±256mV to ±6.144V. The digital comparator in ADS1114 and ADS1115 enables under-voltage and over-voltage detection for safety or threshold applications.
Available in compact X2QFN-10, SOT-10, and VSSOP-10 packages, the ADS111x series is well-suited for use in portable or embedded sensor applications that demand high accuracy, small form factor, and low power consumption.
