Description
The NXP TJA1040 is a high-speed CAN transceiver that serves as the interface between the CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. Fully compliant with the ISO 11898 standard, it supports communication speeds up to 1 MBaud and is designed for high-reliability automotive and industrial applications. The TJA1040 features a very low-current standby mode with remote wake-up capability, ensuring minimal power consumption in power-down networks. It offers excellent electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) with very low electromagnetic emission (EME) and high electromagnetic immunity (EMI). The device automatically disengages from the bus when unpowered, ensuring zero load behavior. It supports input voltage levels compatible with both 3.3 V and 5 V systems and includes protection features like bus pin short-circuit protection to battery and ground, transient protection, and thermal shutdown. With the ability to support at least 110 connected nodes and additional features like TXD dominant time-out and split termination voltage stabilization, the TJA1040 is ideal for robust and scalable CAN network designs.
