The LSM6DSL by STMicroelectronics is a high-performance system-in-package combining a 3D digital accelerometer and a 3D digital gyroscope, optimized for an “always-on” low-power experience with just 0.65 mA current consumption in high-performance mode. It enables dynamic and responsive motion sensing, perfect for advanced consumer applications.

With 4 Kbytes of embedded FIFO, the LSM6DSL supports dynamic data batching and meets major operating system requirements, including Android K, L, and M. The device offers real, virtual, and batch sensors, and features smart FIFO management for efficient power and data processing.

Built on ST’s proven MEMS technology, the LSM6DSL ensures exceptional robustness and reliability. The sensor modules leverage mature micromachining and CMOS interface technologies to deliver high accuracy and mechanical resilience, even in demanding environments.

The LSM6DSL supports multiple full-scale ranges:

• Acceleration: ±2/±4/±8/±16 g

• Angular Rate: ±125/±245/±500/±1000/±2000 dps

It also features a wide analog supply voltage range (1.71 V to 3.6 V) with an independent I/O supply (1.62 V), and supports both SPI and I2C interfaces with data synchronization capabilities.

Additional integrated features include a pedometer, step detector, step counter, significant motion detection, tilt detection, free-fall detection, wake-up function, 6D/4D orientation recognition, click and double-click detection, and an embedded temperature sensor.

Certified to ECOPACK®, RoHS, and Green standards, the LSM6DSL comes in a compact 2.5 mm × 3 mm × 0.83 mm plastic LGA package.
