📄 Detailed Description

The ADXL345 is a high-resolution accelerometer that delivers excellent performance in mobile and portable applications. Its 3-axis sensing capability enables it to measure both static accelerations (like gravity) and dynamic accelerations (resulting from motion or shock). With a resolution of 13 bits, the ADXL345 provides highly accurate measurements with a sensitivity of 3.9 mg per least significant bit (LSB) across all measurement ranges, making it ideal for tilt-sensing and motion tracking applications.

Designed with power efficiency in mind, the ADXL345 operates with extremely low current consumption, drawing only 23 µA in measurement mode and as low as 0.1 µA in standby mode, which ensures extended battery life in mobile applications. The power consumption is dynamically adjusted based on bandwidth settings, optimizing energy usage.

Special sensing features include single tap/double tap detection, activity/inactivity monitoring, and free-fall detection, all of which can be configured to trigger interrupts, reducing the need for continuous host processor monitoring. An embedded FIFO memory buffer minimizes the load on the host processor, enabling efficient data storage and reducing overall system power consumption.
