📄 Detailed Description
The ADuM1400/ADuM1401/ADuM1402 quad-channel digital isolators leverage Analog Devices’ proprietary iCoupler® technology, offering excellent performance without the disadvantages associated with optocouplers. By eliminating LEDs and photodiodes, they remove uncertainties related to current transfer ratios, nonlinear responses, and temperature or aging effects, ensuring stable, consistent behavior over time.
Operating across a wide supply voltage range from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, these devices support systems that require voltage translation across an isolation barrier. They deliver high-speed operation with low pulse width distortion (<2 ns for CRW grade) and tight channel-to-channel matching (<2 ns for CRW grade), making them ideal for precision isolation applications.
The patented refresh feature guarantees DC correctness even in the absence of input signal transitions or during periods of power loss, ensuring robust and reliable system behavior. Additionally, they consume only a fraction (one-tenth to one-sixth) of the power compared to optocouplers operating at similar data rates, enabling energy-efficient designs without compromising performance.
